When is the best time to visit Zanskar & Spiti Valleys?
The optimal window for a Zanskar or Spiti road trip is from June to September. During these summer months, the high mountain passes (Shinku La, Kunzum Pass, Sach Pass) are clear of heavy snow, and roads are fully navigable.
How do we prevent Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS)?
AMS is a real risk when ascending rapidly. Our itineraries incorporate a mandatory 24-hour acclimatization stop in Manali or Keylong. We carry portable oxygen cylinders and basic medical kits on all trips. We advise drinking plenty of water and consulting a doctor regarding Diamox.
What type of mobile network works in these remote valleys?
Only BSNL and Airtel/Jio postpaid SIM cards work in Zanskar and Spiti, primarily offering basic calling in main towns like Padum or Kaza. Expect long stretches of complete internet blackout.
Do Indian tourists need permits?
Yes, Inner Line Permits (ILP) are required for several border regions. Adventure Delight takes care of all permits, transit approvals, and local environment taxes for our booking customers.
